Prototype of the installation and derived sculpture.
PLANNING & VISUALIZATION, 2019
Visualization of the installation in situ
This project was proposed to the city hall of Aubervilliers to be part of the White Night 2020. The installation seeks to enter in dialogue with the place in which I worked for few months last year, a dynamically developing suburban area of Paris, Aubervilliers. Questioning gentrification and its surprising effects on street arrangements and urban spaces, the installation simultaneously highlights issues related to art's economic and social value.

DO URCHINS ALSO DREAM?
This installation reproduces the setting of a surrealist living room in which the window offers a view of underwater courants. Under the window is a pile of black urchins with metallic blue blood. Produced in New York for SVA open studios 2019.

Exhibited at Espacio Nigredo in November 2017.

Video, 2m x 1m, 2018
The urchins have a fascinating body to which I like to identify physically and metaphorically. These videos show close-ups of the animal body parts shot with through a microscope at the Bio Lab of the School of Visual Arts in New York. They unveil what is not visible to the naked eye: spines that look like male sexual organs and a mouth made of five tongs and five teeth that look like a female sexual organ with a complex mechanism of absorption and castration. The title refers to Tim Burton's poem Voodoo Girl. The work was exhibited at the SVA summer residency open studios 2018 and 2019.

The sculpture is a 3D labyrinth made of copper pipes. It was built to give a material body to a text in which the meaning and absurdity of psychological conflicts and social structures are pointed at by an ironic dialogue between two abstract characters: the judge and the one who's being judged. Created in New York and exhibited at the open studios of the SVA summer residency 2018.
